The third in our series of Adaptive Approaches to Diversifying Extension webinars is open to all CALS faculty. Speakers include Judson Reid and Nicole Kubiczki.

Judson Reid is a Senior Extension Associate for Cornell Cooperative Extension's Vegetable Program and the Team Leader of Harvest NY. Judson will discuss approaches to on-farm participatory research in diverse communities of farmers, with a focus on fresh market vegetable systems. In addition to working with Native American, Amish, Mennonite, Black, and Latin American farmers in New York State, Judson has conducted educational sessions with farmers in Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Central America. As part of Harvest NY, Judson coordinates NY's growing program on Urban Agriculture including New York City, Buffalo and other upstate efforts.

Nicole Kubiczki is a Resource Soil Scientist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), the NRCS point of contact for the Seneca Nation of Indians (SNI), and the American Indian/Alaska Native Special Emphasis Program Manager on NRCS NY’s Civil Rights Advisory Committee.  Nicole will discuss ways that NRCS interacts with Tribes and Nations on a government-to-government basis in a manner that fosters trust, earns respect, and honors indigenous sovereignty.  Nicole regularly partners with Cornell Extension educators and values their professional expertise and commitment to the Seneca Nation’s agricultural endeavors.
