Overview

Provides detailed instruction of required dairy farm inspections and is a required course for Certified Milk Inspectors (CMI), those who inspect dairy farms. Offered annually.

This course will provide attendees with information in the key areas that are listed below:

  • Basic Dairy Bacteriology
  • Farm Milk Systems
  • Milk Sanitation Regulations
  • Quality Control Records

This course does not include a final examination. Participants will be asked to evaluate the quality and structure of the program.

Day 1:

  • Composition of Milk
  • Basic Dairy Bacteriology
  • Raw Milk Pathogens and Risks of Foodborne Illness
  • Mastitis, Somatic Cells, and the QMPS Program

Day 2:

  • Farm Milk Systems
  • Milk Sanitation Regulations
  • Drug Use on Farms

Day 3:

  • Milk Sanitation Regulations
  • Direct Load and AMI Regulations
  • Quality¬†Control Records

  • $225 Flat Fee
