Dakota Williams started at CALS on July 14, 2025. He joins the Office of Academic Programs supporting pre-college and first-year students through their introduction, transition, and success within CALS. He has earned his Master of Science in Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Northern Illinois University. At NIU he supported students’ academic success through individualized support and community collaboration, and outreach.
Throughout his time at Colorado State University, he supported the campus community with student transitions, community programming, and increasing access to campus and community resources. This led to Dakota becoming a TRIO Upward Bound Advisor at CSU working to increase high school completion rates while educating students and their families about post-secondary education opportunities.
Dakota’s own identities as a first-generation and low-income student have allowed him to view education as an essential resource while working to make it accessible by addressing community and individual needs. His experience and interests make him excited to work with all students to simplify their educational search, transition, and success. Please feel free to reach out to Dakota if you have any questions!
