I am a statistician. I produce and study new statistical methodology to improve the way we use data to understand and represent the world. I also work closely with researchers in application areas to assist their scientific efforts and to focus my own research activities onto areas of practical importance. As a teacher I aim to disseminate both a knowledge of statistical methods and an appreciation for the potential and pittfalls of data analysis.
