AP, IB, GCE Credit for Biological Sciences
AP, IB, GCE, and CASE Exam Credit for: Biological Sciences Majors
Biological Sciences majors in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences may not use Biology AP, IB or GCE credit to place out of any requirements for the major. Biological Sciences majors may, however, apply earned biology AP, IB or GCE credit (see below) and AP Statistics credit for a score of 4 toward the 120 credits required for graduation in accordance with the policies of their respective college. Additionally, students majoring in biological sciences may apply advanced placement credit from other subjects toward major requirements (e.g., Chemistry, Physics, Math, CS, etc.) as per their respective college policies. Beginning in fall 2019, biological science majors must earn a score of 5 on the AP Statistics exam in order to apply the credit toward the major.

AP, IB, GCE, Credit for: Non-Biological Sciences Majors
Information on credit for advanced placement biology courses for non-biological sciences majors is available below. Non-biological sciences majors who choose to take any of Introductory Biology Cluster Courses (BIOG 1440, BIOG 1445, BIOG 1500, BIOEE 1610, BIOMG 1350) may keep their earned biology AP, IB, GCE credits and apply those credits toward required graduation credits in accordance with the policies of their respective college. Students who are pursuing a degree that requires introductory biology should check with their major advisor to determine if their department accepts advance placement credits. There are no CASE exam for biology courses.
