Wendy Richardson is a 4-H Educator at CCE of Herkimer County. Her background is in food production and quality control for over 20 years before coming to work in extension. She has run the 4-H Government Intern Program with the Herkimer Legislature since 2012. She is also a Herkimer County Dairy in the Classroom Educator since 2023. At the NY State Fair, Wendy is the NY State 4-H Evaluations Coordinator in the Youth building. Coming into this position as a 4-H Mom and now Grandma, Wendy brings years of knowledge to youth education and creating Sparks! Under her leadership, she has helped move evaluations to a "What did I learn" focus and streamlined the process into a more manageable system. Working with educators and evaluators, she continues to bring the evaluations of 4-H project work to modern Thriving models by education and feedback from experts in their fields, as well as youth voice. In her spare time, Wendy loves the outdoors, hiking, camping and her horses. She is an avid gardener and loves to pass down her knowledge to the next generation.
