Learn how racism affects all aspects of life, including but not limited to academia, science and medicine. Participants will broaden their knowledge of racism in these fields and strengthen their ability to communicate about these topics.
Meetings are once per week (Thursdays from 11:20-12:10) during the Spring semester.
Three books that will be discussed over the course of the semester are:
- Inside Graduate Admission: Merit, Diversity, and Faculty Gatekeeping
- Fatal Invention: How Science, Politics and Big Business Re-Create Race in the 21st Century
- Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experiments on Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present
