Here at the New York State 4-H Animal Science office our goal is to help local and regional animal science educators around the state! Your interactions and programming with youth around the state help make our state level programs and contests successful, as do the many hours you spend helping us run events, contests, and shows at the State Fair.

Looking for the Animal Science 4-H events calendar? Or information on how to borrow or buy Ohio State Learning Lab Kits? Or maybe you're looking for new lesson plans or curriculum for your programming. The Educator Resources page is your one stop shop for all of that and more! If you have a favorite resource that you think would be useful to other educators, other tools, or instructions you would like to see here, just ajc93 [at] cornell.edu (let us know)!

Educators can apply for these awards to enhance their resource base and provide animal science in-service trainings. The Rice Awards are for poultry projects and the Standardbred Grants are for equine projects, but the Willman Awards can be used for any type of Animal Science 4-H programming!

Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a national multi-species quality assurance program focused on three core pillars: food safety, animal well-being, and character development. YQCA training is completed either online through self-directed courses or through in-person training workshops arranged by 4-H certified instructors.

New York 4-H youth ages 8-18, who are enrolled in any of the livestock projects listed below may complete the YQCA online course if your county does not offer in-person training. YQCA training modules accommodate multiple levels of learning for all ages. The appropriate level is determined by the age/grade of youth at the time training takes place. Certification levels are made by 4-Hers, parents/guardians and county 4-H staff where youth are geographically enrolled.
