Stephanie McBath ‘19 will represent Agriculture Future of America (AFA) this school year at Cornell, as the animal science major was recently named to the campus ambassador position.
McBath said she is excited to earn a leadership role in an organization geared towards college students and young professionals in agriculture. She is one of 19 students named to ambassador positions at school across the country. Campus ambassadors are expected to interact with agribusiness leaders, campus faculty, and fellow students. McBath will serve as the liaison between Cornell and the AFA.
In March 2016, McBath attended the organization’s Policy Institute in Washington, D.C., where she lobbied for agriculture on National Ag Day. In November, she attended the organization’s Leaders Conference in Kansas City for the second time.
“I am so inspired by the passionate students who are engaged in ag policy, economics, and so many other important issues that we, as future professionals, will face,” McBath said. “Many leaders in agriculture have come, and will continue to come, from Cornell and CALS, and I will do my best to take what I learn at conferences and bring it back to campus to benefit our agriculture programs and majors.”
