Network for Environment and Weather Applications
NEWA
NEWA is a weather network where farmers can share and access resources for weather data collection, analysis, distribution, and archiving.
Weather stations, primarily located on farms, deliver data to the NEWA website, which automatically calculates and displays weather data summaries, crop production tools, and IPM forecasts.
NEWA Resources
In 2007, users reported that they can save, on average, $19,500 per year in spray costs and prevent, on average, $264,000 per year in crop loss as a direct result of using NEWA pest forecast models.
