Melissa Hegarty

Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science and certificate in Business and Environmental Sustainability from SUNY Empire State College. While completing her degree program, Melissa was able to gain hands-on experience by serving as an active member of the City of Geneva Green Committee.

Just prior to joining the Center of Excellence for Food and Agriculture, Melissa worked at Hobart and William Smith Colleges (HWS), where she first supported service opportunities for college students through the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning - working extensively with the Geneva Boys and Girls Club programs in a unique position that was funded jointly by HWS and the Geneva Boys and Girls Club. She then moved across campus to support the Athletic Department at HWS during a time of rapid growth, as multiple new sports programs were added.

Melissa lives in Geneva with her husband and two children.
