Join us in 175 Warren Hall for a lecture with Monique Ekaete Bassey, Visiting Assistant Professor at University of Nebraska – Lincoln. This lecture is titled "Rooted In Advocacy: Empowerment Through Design." Monique will share her personal journey into landscape architecture, highlighting how her commitment to advocacy has shaped her approach to fostering meaningful, community-centered design. Rooted in collaboration, this presentation explores how Indigenous leadership and university-community partnerships empower students to create sustainable, culturally significant, and ethically grounded design that honor Indigenous values and prioritize community-driven solutions.
