The training is a collaborative effort of the Cornell Farmworker Program, the Volunteer Legal Services Project, Worker Justice Center of New York, Legal Aid Society of Rochester, and Centro Civico at IBERO. 

The workshop is free of charge and will be conducted in Spanish and via Facebook Live @WJCNY Facebook page. No registration is necessary.

Our guest speakers will be:

  • Irene Sánchez, Legal Advocate at the Volunteer Legal Services Project
  • Joe Cassidy-Schaffer, Esq. Immigration Attorney, Legal Aid Society of Rochester

Please share with your communities to learn about their rights as an Immigrant in New York State. We will cover topics such as:

  • What to do if ICE visits their home or work
  • What to do if ICE detains a relative
  • The steps of family preparation
  • Recent changes in Public Charge
  • What are the relief options of Immigration, and much more!

Participants will be able to ask questions to the Attorneys throughout the workshop!

La capacitación es un esfuerzo de colaboración del Proyecto de Servicios Legales Voluntarios, el Centro de Justicia para Trabajadores de Nueva York, la Sociedad de Asistencia Legal de Rochester, el Centro Cívico de IBERO y el Programa de Trabajadores Agrícolas de Cornell.
