Kelli Carr
Assistant to the Chair, Department of Communication

Kelli joined the Department of Communication in August 2014 following three years in the Special Programs and Professional Studies division of Cornell's School of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions. Prior to moving to Ithaca, she served as manager of publications at University of Toronto’s Centre for Reformation and Renaissance Studies and editorial assistant in the Department of Publications at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Kelli holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Wayne State University and a Master of Arts in Medieval Studies from the University of Toronto. She enjoys reading, travel, and scary movies. She does not like hiking. Rumor has it that her favorite punctuation mark is the interrobang‽
In her role as the Assistant to the Chair, Kelli performs the following:
- Coordinates the activities of the chair
- Manages faculty reappointment, promotion, and tenure dossiers
- Coordinates and organizes faculty searches
- Produces the Department of Communication newsletter and oversees faculty PR
- Provides editorial assistance to department members
- Assists in the development and execution of department events
Hybrid Schedule:
- Monday: 8:30 am–5:00 pm, in office
- Tuesday: 8:15 am–4:45 pm, remote
- Wednesday: 8:15 am–4:45 pm, remote
- Thursday: 8:30 am–5:00 pm, in office
- Friday: 8:15 am–3:45 pm, remote
