Graduate Student, School of Integrative Plant Science Horticulture Section
Kate is a second year Master's student at Cornell University and works under the supervision of Dr. Gregory Peck. Her research project aims to improve weed management in the tree rows of organic apple orchards of the Northeast.
Before attending Cornell, Kate earned her Bachelor's degree in Plant Science from Rutgers University. While at Rutgers, Kate explored the efficacy of cover cropping and carbon amendments for soil health restoration in commercial blueberry fields. Kate is interested in the dynamics of weed management and soil biology in perennial cropping systems and plans to pursue a career in Cooperative Extension.
