I am the Education Coordinator for the food Forest Trial Garden Project, am writing a book called Ecological Gardening in the Northeast: A Guide to Growing Food, Medicine, Habitat, and Beauty (due out in Fall 2022), I serve on the statewide leadership team for Seed to Supper where I provide educational support for counties enrolled in the program, and provide support for Advanced Master Gardener trainings.
My passions include Garden-Based Learning, place-based education, citizen science, ecological gardening, regenerative agriculture, seed saving, cover crops, and permaculture. Jennie’s background is in botany, plant conservation biology, and applied ecology and she teaches about gardening using an ecological framework. She has a B.S. in Natural Resources from Cornell University (1997) and a M.S. from the University of Vermont’s Field Naturalist Program (2005). When she is not teaching or gardening, you can find Jennie foraging and exploring in the forest, paddling on the lake, or making crafty homemade goods from the garden. Jennie also teaches meditation and yoga.
