This event is part of the Fruit IPM for the Home Garden and Landscapes Conference. 

Soil health is vital for establishing and maintaining beautiful, productive fruit in the home garden and landscapes. It is a critical component of any IPM program. This talk will provide an overview of what soil health is, how to measure it, and how to build and maintain healthy soil in gardens and landscapes.  

About the Speaker

Debbie Aller
Extension Associate, Cornell University
New York Soil Health—Program Coordinator 

Debbie is a soil scientist who currently serves as an extension associate at Cornell University and program coordinator for the New York Soil Health Initiative. She conducts applied research and coordinates extension activities to assist farmers in adopting more sustainable soil management practices. She earned her M.Sc. in Environmental Science and International Development from the University of Edinburgh and Ph.D. in Soil Science from Iowa State University.
