What are the big challenges you want to tackle in the world?
I would like to use my research as a way to contribute to the transition to a more sustainable and equitable food system that benefits small farmers' livelihoods and provides disadvantages groups better access to healthy food.
What were you doing before the PhD program?
I was completing my master degree in community development at UC Davis.
What has been the most memorable or impactful experience of your academic or professional career so far?
With my research experience and knowledge in sustainable food systems, I have been actively involved in public education on food systems. I helped design and teach a series of online and in-person courses collaborating with organizations in China and also wrote a series of articles on topics related to food.
