Ph.D. Candidate, Development Sociology
Michael earned his B.A. in Sociology and American Studies from the University of Virginia (2008), and his M.A. in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from New York University (2017).
His research interests include the political economy of flex crops and agricultural commodities, political ecology, and subaltern political movements, with a regional focus on the Bolivian agrarian frontier and the Southern Cone.
