What are the big challenges you want to tackle in the world?

My wish would be that as a land-grant institution we would ask students to share with the Tompkins county community one skill they have in order to address the number of disconnected youth in our county.

What were you doing before the PhD program?

I am a Youth Development specialist and have worked for Cornell for the past ten years as the NYS 4-H Civic Engagement Specialist and I work with Extension Educators in NY and beyond!

What has been the most memorable or impactful experience of your academic or professional career so far?

Thus far my priority has been to start with the end at the beginning of my program. I am excited to research syllabi and figure out what my introductory courses will look like.

Tell us a fun fact about you.

I work both full-time and part-time jobs while I am studying.

How do you envision your PhD degree contributing to your career?

I envision that this degree will round out my experience as a practitioner and am looking to enhance the research we extend into communities.
