Driver and Criminal Background Checks

The University requires that a criminal background check be conducted for all staff and union positions. Ideally, this must be completed before the first day of work. However, the University will allow an individual to begin employment contingent upon the successful completion of the background check, with satisfactory results, within 30 days of their start date.

  • The driver check is required for all positions where it was stated in the job description that a driver’s license was required.
  • Once the candidate has electronically signed the offer, they will receive an information request from Sterling One / Talent Wise.
