Training Materials

The below materials will need to be reviewed by the entire search committee.

The University and College are committed to ensuring that all applicants are fairly evaluated.

By federal law and University policy, we must ensure that our employment processes are fair and equitable, and offer equal employment opportunity. It is important that those involved in the selection of a new colleague understand and reduce bias that is unrelated to quality and talent and which might play a role in choosing one individual over another.

We now require the hiring manager/search committee chair to complete training prior to CALS HR advertising the position. This training is recommended for all search committee members as well.

The hiring manager/search committee chair will need to complete the training every 24 months (two years) to be authorized to lead the search process. These trainings can be found in Skillsoft and will take less than 1 hour to complete:

Faculty who have completed the University course “It Depends on the Lens: Addressing Unconscious Bias in the Staff Search Process”, may substitute this training course for the modules listed above.
