Governmental & Community Relations
The Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ Office of Government and Community Relations is located in Albany, New York, with the Cornell University Office of State Relations. Cornell CALS and Cooperative Extension leadership recognizes the critical importance of nurturing the over 150 year partnership with the state of New York as a Land-Grant institution. This office plays an important role in providing on-going communications to public policy makers in the Legislative and Executive branches of State Government on the programs and research of the college.
The Governmental and Community Relations office also works closely with stakeholder organizations including those engaged on agricultural, environmental, economic development, food insecurity and health issues. Over the years, building an understanding of the work and capacity of the college and our extension system partners with public policy makers and stakeholder organizations has resulted in opportunities to maintain our relevance and mission as a "Life. Changing." problem solving institution of higher education.
