Erik is the area field crops specialist for the Central New York Dairy, Livestock, and Field Crops Program, covering an 8-county region spanning Central NY and the Mohawk Valley to include Madison, Chenango, Otsego, Schoharie, Herkimer, Montgomery, Fulton, and Saratoga Counties. His responsibilities include:
- Providing on-farm consultation
- Developing educational programming
- Organizing grower meetings
- Conducting applied research on pest management and crop production strategies
Erik earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in entomology from Cornell University, researching integrated pest management and connections between crops, insect pests, weeds, insect-vectored plant pathogens, and the weather.
