Viewed broadly, the research focus of the Field of BMCB is to uncover the fundamental chemical, biochemical, molecular biological, and cell biological principles that govern all forms of life.
As one of the largest graduate programs in the biological sciences at Cornell University, the Field of BMCB is an umbrella program with strengths in multi-disciplinary research, including biochemistry and structural biology, cell biology, developmental biology, molecular genetics and genomics.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
The BMCB program includes lecture and laboratory courses, teaching experience, and front-line research with access to the latest technology and equipment. Grant writing and presenting scientific research to a variety of audiences, as well as classroom teaching, are also emphasized.
