Major & Minor
- Major: Animal Science
- Seattle, WA
I never thought I would find myself dealing with sea urchins, yet alone artificially inseminating one for ANSC 2400 (Biology of Reproduction)!
What has been an academic highlight for you within your major?
My academic highlight was every chore shift at Ezra's farm in BIOAP 1100 (Domestic Animal Biology). I got hands on experience with farm animals, which was powerful as someone who does not live in a very agricultural area. My favorite skill I learned was how to bottle feed a calf.
What is something you have been involved with outside of academics that is meaningful to you?
Living in the Ujamaa Program House has been a meaningful experience and has provided me a strong community on campus. With Ujamaa, I have had the opportunity to meet and befriend the Black community at Cornell and have lots of programs and events at my disposal.
What are your go-to campus resources?
My peer mentors from BOSS (Building Ourselves through Sisterhood & Service) and the Pre-Vet Society have been valuable resources for figuring out how to configure my schedule and emotional support.
