Taking my tree identification exam for my field biology class. The sun was shining, leaves were falling, and everyone was smiling. I almost forgot I was taking a test.

Why is CALS a great fit for you?

CALS is a perfect fit for me because I like helping people. Since I've been in CALS, I've felt like I'm a part of something bigger than myself.

What has been an academic highlight for you outside of your major?

I loved my GIS class in the Department of City and Regional Planning because I got to conduct an independent research project of my choice. I chose to map sediment pollution levels in the Chesapeake Bay, which was really cool because I spent so much time there growing up.

What is something you have been involved with outside of academics that is meaningful to you?

I'm very involved in the Cornell Daily Sun. I've been writing as an opinion columnist for over three years. The community is without compare!
