Major & Minor

  • Major: Animal Science
  • Minor: Education

  • Albuquerque, NM

In an International Agriculture and Rural Development class I took, we had to pitch development opportunities for rural, developing communities. I realized how incredible it was that we had so many different ideas to solve tons of different issues facing these communities like drought or elephants eating crops!

What has been an academic highlight for you within your major?

The Animal Science Department is full of opportunities, but one that I’ve been enjoying is the opportunity to be a Teaching Assistant (TA). As a TA, you get the chance to guide your peers through the classes you’ve excelled in.

Why are you a great fit for CALS?

I have a passion for change and for helping others. CALS embraces change and innovation, and the College encourages students to make a difference in their lives, communities, and the world around them. I have a passion for helping animals and others!

How have you found your closest friends at Cornell?

I met my closest friends during my freshman year living in the Latino Living Center. We’re still friends today, and now we’re roommates!
