Derar Lulu brings a wealth of experience and a passion for student success to his role as Graduate Coordinator in Global Development at Cornell CALS. With a diverse background that includes studying abroad in London as a Gilman Scholar, interning at the Department of State within the Office of Education and Cultural Affairs Bureau, and serving in various student-focused capacities, Derar is well-equipped to make a positive impact in his new position.
Throughout his career, Derar has demonstrated a commitment to fostering inclusive environments and supporting student development. His experiences as a Resident Advisor, Academic Success Coach, and involvement in community outreach programs have equipped him with the skills to mentor and advocate for students effectively.
Derar's time abroad in London provided him with valuable cross-cultural experiences and insights that enrich his perspective on education and student engagement. His internship at the Department of Education and Cultural Affairs Bureau further deepened his understanding of educational policies and practices, preparing him to navigate complex issues in higher education administration.
