Daniel Donahue is a regional tree fruit specialist with the Eastern NY Commercial Horticulture Program. In this role, he serves apple, pear, and stone fruit producers across an 18-county region from Clinton to Orange Counties with a primary focus on the Hudson Valley region. Within this role, his responsibilities include:
- Providing on-farm consultation to growers in the region on pest management, horticulture, post-harvest, and production economics
- Contributor to various extension communications including serving as editor of the ENYCHP Tree Fruit E-Alert
- Contributor to the organization of field meetings and winter schools within the region
Daniel's research focuses on the bitter pit disorder in the 'Honeycrisp' apple, documentation and causation of apple decline, and the use of plant growth regulators to increase grower profitability. His research findings have been presented to grower and research audiences statewide, nationally, and internationally.
