Cornell Cooperative Extension puts knowledge to work in pursuit of economic vitality, ecological sustainability and social well-being.
Rooted in every county of the state, we bring local experience and research-based solutions together, helping New York State families and communities thrive in our rapidly changing world.
For over two decades, CCE experienced level state funding until Governor Hochul and the legislature increased CCE’s budget allocation in 2021-2022. Help us urge Governor Hochul to make this funding increase permanent in her Executive Budget for next year.

For over two decades, CCE experienced level state funding until your administration acknowledged the substantial impact CCE has on all of NY’s communities, from rural, suburban, to urban with a $500K addition to the 2021/2022 Executive Budget to the SUNY county law 224 funding. I am writing today to urge your administration to continue that commitment, providing a total of $6.1M (maintaining the NYS Legislature’s addition to the 2024-25 enacted budget). The additional $1.7 million from the previous year has been instrumental in addressing urgent community needs—supporting youth development, addressing public health challenges, assisting farmers through Cornell’s expertise, and enhancing workforce development. Thank you for your support for CCE over the years and I urge your careful consideration of a $6.1M total request in the Executive Budget for CCE 224 funds in the SUNY allocation.
Telling your CCE story
We encourage you to tell your CCE story to Governor Hochul. An example of a personal story could look like this. As a parent/grandparent involved with 4-H, I’ve witnessed remarkable growth in my young family member—gaining confidence and forming friendships as they explore future pathways in food systems or healthcare.
