NYCOMM & CaliCOMM

The Department of Communication is offering two industry seminars, which culminate with a series of meetings and workshops with working alumni in both NYC and West Coast (Silicon Valley or Los Angeles, depending on the year). Each seminar will meet for seven weekly classes in preparation for the industry visits. Each city offers a different experience and opportunity to interact with our amazing alumni. During the trips, students will tour leading media, public relations, news, and tech firms while interacting with some of the top leaders of each field, who just happen to be Cornell alumni.

Please review the information below to gain a better understanding of each trip. Students are responsible for some of the cost of each trip but that amount varies based on the city.

  • The trip will take place over fall break: October 9 through October 11.
  • Transportation to and from NYC will be provided.
  • Hotel accommodations will be provided. (Two students per room.)

Los Angeles (Fall 2023 and Winter 2024, 1.5 credits):

  • The trip will take place January 7 through January 12.
