Our Sustainable Vision: CU + You
A critical piece of our commitment to purpose-driven science is putting our knowledge and research to work, to make a positive impact. Students and faculty go beyond the boundaries of campus, partnering with communities to explore ideas and solve complex problems.
But, we can only continue to ask new questions and discover new answers with your help.
Learn how your generosity can benefit the Cornell CALS community.
This endowment fund is pooled from gifts made to name parts of the Ag Quad. It will support the greatest core priorities of CALS — faculty start-up and retention, student scholarships, active learning, new initiatives and more. Flexible funds are critical to seed important needs and opportunities that allow CALS to be one of the world’s leading institutions of its kind.

The Kathryn J. Boor ’80 Experiential Learning Fund was established in 2017. This endowed fund supports academic enrichment and experiential learning activities through the CALS Alumni Association grants program. The fund was established by Scott ’86 and Lisa Braunstein to help increase grant opportunities for students.
Students are at the heart of everything that moves us forward at CALS. We are dedicated to providing educational opportunity and access to the best and brightest students regardless of their economic circumstances. This scholarship will honor Kathryn J. Boor by providing support for students with financial need in any department in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, with special consideration given to first generation students.

Gifts to the CALS Annual Fund are directed by Dean Boor to where the need is greatest. Currently, the Annual Fund directly supports CALS’ most valuable resource: its people. For students and faculty, these contributions help to ensure that they can take full advantage of the incredible intellectual resources at Cornell, as well as to create opportunities in service to local, national, and global communities.
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has opened its doors of higher education to the best and brightest future students for more than 100 years. Scholarship endowment is critical to ensuring that the cost of a CALS education stays within the financial reach of deserving students, without regard to their financial circumstances.
While not always top of mind when it comes to giving, graduate student support is critical to the future of CALS. Enhancing the quality of top programs and research attracts the most promising students, providing faculty with the opportunity to mentor some of the world's top young scientists.
Our faculty's globally recognized expertise is the cornerstone of CALS' reputation as a premier institution of scientific learning and enables us to attract the best students. Gifts in support of faculty help us attract outstanding researchers and instructors, while retaining those already on campus. Areas of focus include: food and nutrition security; climate change; biological systems; big data; media and communication strategies; and social and ecological system resilience.
