Reshma Niraula '26
Reshma Niraula is concentrating in Neurobiology and Behavior and will be a new student advisor this year. She plans to attend medical school to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a surgeon. Reshma was a Nexus Scholar in the summer of 2023, conducting research in Dr. Shaw’s lab, where she worked with cryptic Hawaiian crickets by analyzing their diet through gut content. Last summer, she continued her research at the Brain Computation and Behavior Lab, performing surgeries on mice and analyzing their hippocampal activity.
In addition to her role as a student advisor, Reshma is a student ambassador for the College of Arts and Sciences and serves as the VP of Engagement. She is also the president of the Nepalese Student Association, a newly established club on campus, and an active member of the pre-health sorority Rho Psi Eta. Furthermore, she serves as a teaching assistant for BioMG 1350 and Chem 2070. In her spare time, Reshma enjoys hiking around Ithaca and chasing waterfalls. You can often find her capturing sunsets from the slope or treating herself to boba after a prelim. Besides that, Reshma loves binge-watching Korean TV shows on Netflix and reading fantasy novels.
Reshma’s advice for new students
