Alida Pahlevan ‘25
Alida is a senior, returning to the role of student advisor this year and plans to attend medical school after a gap year to do clinical work or research. During the summers Alida has worked as a research assistant studying the mechanisms behind Autism Spectrum Disorder in a neuroscience lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, a medical assistant for a Breast surgeon in Long Island, and as a research assistant in the Berry Lab studying nutrition and metabolism for the summer. Alida will also be working as a student assistant for the OUB! During the academic year, she works in the Berry Lab studying organismal nutrition, metabolism and physiology. Alida is the Co-President of Brain Excercise Initiative, part of the Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity, OUB Student Advisor, part of an intramural volleyball team, member of Persian Students Organization, works in both the Olin and Uris libraries and is a Kaplan Student Ambassador. Alida has also TA’ed for BIOEE1780 and will be a TA for BIOMG3310 for the upcoming semester. For fun, she loves to work out (lifting and long-distance running), graphic design, mix music, and play sports.
Her advice to freshmen:
“Transition to the rigor of Cornell is not a easy process, and it's tempting to throw yourself into as many activities and challenging classes as possible, but don't forget to take time to relax, explore, and enjoy the beautiful Ithaca community!”
