Adriana Krasniqi ‘25

Adriana is a returning Student Advisor, senior, Neurobiology and Behavior concentrator, and plans to attend medical school after taking a gap year. This summer, she volunteered at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s ECHO Free Clinic Summer Program collaborating with patients to complete comprehensive Social Determinants of Health Screenings while diving into their individual needs and socioeconomic circumstances. She will also focus on reproductive health including contraception, pregnancy care, and STI testing. She is a Biological Sciences Scholar, President of ASL @ Cornell, teaches students in local elementary and middle schools, is involved in MECA, Cornell Minds Matter, and EARS. In the past, she completed research in Reed Lab where she combined sgRNA for aristaless 1 and 2 and CRISPR-cas9 to inject eggs, causing mutagenesis that elucidated a genes involvement in butterfly and moth wing color patterns. In her spare time she plays the piano, enjoys sports, reading, and going on walks with her dog Koda.

Her words of advice for incoming students:

“Everyone is on their own path, carving their own unique journey. Take things slowly, live in the moment, and don't compare yourself to others. And remember, "failure" is an opportunity to start again. It's redirection. ”
