Sasha Smalls ‘25

Sasha is concentrating in Neurobiology and Behavior and plans to obtain her PhD in Neurobiology and Behavior after graduation! At Cornell, she researches how social relationships impact brain and behavior in the Prior Lab, is a member of the Biology Scholars Program (BSP) and State of the Pod and does intramural volleyball. Her favorite course so far has been BIONB 2220! Next summer, she will be studying abroad in Madrid, Spain and taking a course on the rich and complex role of monologues from the perspective of rhetoric, psychology, philosophy, and performance. For fun, Sasha likes to watch movies/TV, read, and binge YouTube. She enjoys action, superhero, and thriller movies (an avid fan of Marvel, Game of Thrones, and The Boys)! She also particularly enjoys art, science, and Minecraft YouTubers.

Sasha’s words of advice to incoming students:

“One useful piece of advice that I am STILL working on incorporating into my daily mantra is "Don't compare yourself to others." Our personal achievements are immeasurable, and we fail to give ourselves credit when we compare ourselves to others.”
