Cole Kwas '23

Cole is concentrating in Cell and Molecular Biology, and intends to take a gap year before attending medical school.  At Cornell and in Ithaca, he is writer and editor for the Cornell Healthcare Review, and volunteers at Cayuga Medical Center.  He is an undergraduate researcher in the Aguilar-Carreno Lab in the College of Veterinary Medicine, which focuses on virology.  In his free time, Cole enjoys exercising, hanging out with friends, and watching hockey.  In previous summers, he has shadowed an orthopedic surgeon and volunteered as a teaching assistant at a public school in Manhattan.  This past summer, he conducted research and studied for the MCAT.  His favorite class at Cornell is PSYCH 1101.

His words of advice to new students

“The transition to Cornell can be difficult.  Don’t be scared to reach out for help when you need it.”
