Alexis Rooney '23

Alexis is concentrating in General Biology and plans to take two gap years to do research before going to medical school.  On campus and in Ithaca, she volunteers for Y.O.U.R.S. and at the Sciencenter and is a CALS Ambassador.  She is part of the Biology Scholars Program and TAs for CHEM 2070.  Alexis conducts research in the Wilson Group, a lab specializing in inorganic synthetic chemistry.  In her free time, Alexis enjoys spending time with her dogs.  Her favorite course has been BIOMG 4400, Biochemistry Lab— “such an amazing course that you learn so many techniques in.”  In previous summers, she has worked as a Chemistry TA for the PSP program, conducted research on-campus at the Wilson Lab, and worked at a hospital in the patient care unit.  This past summer she stayed in Ithaca and worked on planning a course for the upcoming semester.

Her words of encouragement to new students:

"Stay true to yourself and everything will work out."
