Ph.D. program (Xiaohong Wang and Zach Hansen Labs)
I am passionate about improving global food security, particularly by applying molecular biology and genetics to improve plant health. Hence, I am interested in the molecular and genetic mechanisms of plant disease resistance, with the overarching goal of helping plants win the arms race against pathogens. More specifically, in the Wang and Hansen Labs, my research is aimed at exploring wild potato germplasm for novel resistance to cyst nematode and late blight of potato.
