Research Support Specialist, School of Integrative Plant Science, Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology Section
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Science & Technology from the University of Maryland, and my Master's degree in Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology from Cornell University. I spent several years with the USDA-APHIS Plant Germplasm Quarantine Program in Beltsville, Maryland, where I assisted with the quarantine and screening of imported pome fruit germplasm. As a Research Support Specialist based at Cornell AgriTech, I support Dr. Marc Fuchs’ plant virology program. My research interests include the plant-to-plant movement, epidemiology, diagnosis, and control of viruses that infect apple trees and grapevines.
USDA Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small visited Cornell AgriTech Friday, Dec. 8 as one of her visits to land-grant institutions focusing on specialty crops, ag tech innovation and local foods.
