Installation and Licensing

The initial installation of CNCPS include a 30-day trial period. Once the 30-day period has been reached, you must purchase a license to continue using the software. 

If you have an existing version of CNCPS on your computer, we recommend uninstalling this version before downloading the latest version below.

 

CNCPS v6.5.5 Update

We are pleased to announce an update to CNCPS version 6.5 that now includes NASEM 2021 updates for vitamins and minerals.  In addition to the existing bioavailabilities of vitamins and minerals, users will also receive NASEM 2021 bioavailabilities for all feedstuffs within the CNCPS Feed Library. Updated requirements of vitamins and minerals from NASEM 2021 have also been added and can be viewed in tandem with previous requirements. We recommend using these updated requirements to balance your diets in the future.

Importing to the Feed Library

Be advised, this version of the CNCPS supports feed analysis imports which make use of the ‘.amts_fa’ file type. Other the importation of other file types will likely result in an error. Please consult the CNCPS group with any questions or concerns.

Previous License Holders

Version 6.5 license holders who installed the program before June 13, 2023 may upgrade at no charge. Before installing the version below, be sure to backup your current farm files and uninstall CNCPS version 6.5.5.

Version 6.1 license holders may choose to upgrade to version 6.5 at no charge.  Please note that due to significant changes to the feed library, feed chemistry, and function of v6.5, farm files that were created in v6.1 cannot be used in v6.5. 

How to install

If you have previously installed CNCPS on your computer, we recommend backing up farm files and uninstalling the initial version before using the link below.

  1. Download the executable file below.  If you are asked to run or download the file, select Download.
  2. Access the executable file from the folder where it is saved and install the program.You must have administrator rights to install and run the program. 
  3. Once installed, you may use the program without a full license for 30 days. Once the trial period has expired, you must purchase a license.

License fees and options

Each computer where the program is installed currently requires a separate license.  To use the program in teaching students, you may choose to purchase either an academic or teaching license.  All fees below represent a license for the current version and any future updates to version 6.5.

  • Standard License - $600 USD
  • Academic License - $200 USD (available for use at teaching and research institutions and organizations)
  • Teaching License - $20 USD per computer installation for 180 days of use (for classroom use only.  Each computer (workstation) where the program will be used uses a separate license)

How to purchase

The license key from the installed version is needed to complete the online license purchase process. To locate the license key, open the program and select Help – About – View License Details – Copy License Key. Purchasing one license allows installation to one host computer (a single-user workstation).

Once payment is received, an activation code will be generated and emailed separately within 1-2 business days.
