Merlin’s Kids is a non profit organization dedicated to providing service dogs to those in need. The dogs are rescued from shelters and trained to assist/ care for both children and adults. The goals of the club is to expose students to various techniques necessary to train service dogs. Through in-person handling sessions and online canvas trainings, students are able to perfect handling skills needed to train the dogs how to calmly navigate overstimulating situations (i.e. crowded classrooms, boarding TCAT, being in a restaurant).
Undergraduate and Graduate are welcome to join the club. There are no fees to participate. Students can expect one general body meeting each semester along with weekly handling sessions. To join the group, us Campus Groups.
