Study Abroad Application Approval Process (through the Cornell Abroad office)
The CALS Assistant Registrar reviews and approves all applications to “CALS Approved” programs listed on the Cornell Abroad portal.
Prior to receiving the CALS Assistant Registrar’s approval, all students must:
- attend a CALS Study Abroad 101 session;
- fully complete Part I, Part II and Statement of Purpose; and
- have their faculty advisor sign off on their Part II Proposed Course of Study Form (located on the Cornell Abroad website after you login to program application).
For applicants who have completed all three steps above, final approval can be obtained by appointment only. Students may make an appointment online, by calling 607-255-2257, or in person at the reception desk in 140 Roberts Hall. *Be sure to bring Part I, Part II and Statement of Purpose or your application cannot be approved.
Please note: To ensure applications are made to program providers in a timely manner, students MAY apply directly to the study abroad program prior to receiving Part I & Part II approvals.
