Farm research services update

March 18, 2020

Dear Colleague,

We write to our research farm users to convey Cornell AgriTech’s intent to provide access to farm- based research during the coming growing season. A message from Provost Kotlikoff recently communicated that research activities on campus that are not deemed critical for long-term asset preservation are to be put on hold until further notice. He left open the possibility of field-based research that has a seasonality component. In discussion with Dean Boor, we agreed that we should continue to plan for field research during the coming growing season, including the greenhouse-based propagation of transplants. We are developing a plan for how this will be supported and will communicate that to you when it is available.

While we will not be starting any new projects in our greenhouses and growth chambers in the immediate future, we are maintaining and will continue to maintain critical plant material that is essential to your research.

These are difficult times for everyone and despite the challenges we all face, Cornell AgriTech is committed to ensuring the success of your current and future research. Thank you for your patience and please reach out with any questions you may have.

Best wishes,

The Cornell AgriTech leadership team
