The Office of Alumni Affairs and Development provides lifelong involvement opportunities that are relevant, meaningful, and foster pride and loyalty among nearly 50,000 CALS alumni. CALS enjoys a dedicated alumni population that supports the college by engaging with students, volunteering, making gifts, recruiting future employees, and myriad other activities.
Regarded as the best college of its kind in the nation, CALS faculty, staff, students, and alumni are discovering, integrating, disseminating, and applying knowledge about food and energy systems, the life sciences, the environmental sciences, and economic and community vitality as a basis for sustainable improvement in the lives of people throughout New York, the nation, and the world. From the social sciences to the life sciences, in fundamental and applied disciplines, CALS has the broad and deep expertise needed to affect real change in the world and provide solutions to today’s global challenges. CALS alumni play a huge role in these successes.
The role of the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development is to provide a variety of programs, events, and services that engage, inform, and assist the CALS alumni base. Alumni involvement in these activities critically strengthens the college; there are so many ways for alumni to remain engaged with the school that they called home during what many describe as the best years of their lives. Alumni may become involved with the CALS Alumni Association; connect with students by recruiting, hosting an internship, or working as a Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador; or simply make a gift that signifies their support for Cornell’s future. The opportunities for involvement are almost endless.
