Job Description
Palmer Vineyards operates 120 acres of vinifera vineyard. We are seeking an experienced Vineyard Manager to join our wine growing team. This is an opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the production of quality estate fruit and award winning wines. The Vineyard Manager reports to Winemaker and is responsible for vineyard budgeting, planning, managing operations, and crop forecasting and safety standards.
Job Qualifications
-BS Degree in Viticulture, or equivalent.
-Experience with managing vine balance, vigor and health related issues, expertise in operation vineyard equipment and harvester.
-Organizing all farming operations, spraying, fertilizing, pest control, and cover crop in a quality and cost efficient manner. -Practical mechanical maintenance skills are highly desirable as is knowledge of sensory techniques for evaluation crop ripeness.
