Job Description

Provide basic insect field biology research support for development of insect control products worldwide
Provide technical expertise to business teams for global commercialization
Conceptualize, direct, and execute field and laboratory research with a focus on an ecological approach to sorting and evaluating new transgenic insect resistant plants
Work with product development, regulatory, and commercial stewardship teams as technical expert for the development and commercialization of new insect control products
Investigate and develop new laboratory and field bioassay methodologies to streamline the insect control event sorting process
Analyze, summarize, and interpret laboratory and field data to help optimize insect control event sorting
Prepare technical reports of research studies when necessary to support registration packages
Participate in industry and professional society technical committees to facilitate development of consistent, science-based stewardship plans for insect control products

Job Qualifications

Educational Qualification Desired:

Ph.D. in entomology, ecology, or related field
At least two years of related experience or equivalent amounts of relevant education and experience

Competencies and Experience Desired:

Research experience in the areas of insect field biology and ecology, insect pest management, and resistance management required
Research in corn and / or soybean insect pest management highly desirable
Strong background in biostatistics highly desirable
Excellent project planning and management skills including the development of project plans, study protocols, and standard operating procedures
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work within a diverse, team-oriented research group
Experience in developing GLP compliant plans and technical reports for regulatory submissions a plus
Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Must be available to travel as required
