Job Description
- Supervise and study the maintenance and running operations of major installations, including the investigation of problems and discussions with appropriate specialized contractors and consultants
- Study specific maintenance problems in Headquarters' premises which could normally be resolved by use of the Organization's maintenance staff
- Prepare plans, drawings, and detailed work programs required for the resolution of problems on all installations
- Co-ordinate and supervise the work of artisans and follow-up through Group foremen on the effective implementation
- Carry out continuing inspections of HQ buildings and plants, of the lifts, of fire detection and protection equipment, etc. and prepare pertinent reports including identification of action required by the Organization or by the Italian Authorities
- Administer the contracts for utilities and monitor consumption and costs and adopt or recommend the adoption of any necessary adjustments in contracts or in usage aimed at achieving the most cost-effective results
- Prepare action plans to achieve energy savings and develop technical plans to increase efficiencies in the functioning of technical installations
- Follow and upgrade building automation systems
- Prepare and update the necessary programs of work for cyclic maintenance works; monitor performance and report on action to be taken for the resolution of extraordinary maintenance problems
- Prepare specifications for tenders for contracting out construction and / or maintenance works and prepare time schedules for outside contracts for new installations, maintenance, or service activities
- Develop systems and procedures for monitoring and follow-up contractors' technical / economical performance to promote efficiency and achieve costs containment measures
- Perform other related duties as required
Job Qualifications
- University degree in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical engineering
- Five years responsible professional experience as an engineer with specific experience in maintenance and upkeep of technical installations in large office / commercial buildings
- Working knowledge of English, French, or Spanish and limited knowledge of one of the other two; knowledge of Italian and technical terminology
Selection Criteria:
- Relevance of experience in maintenance and upkeep of technical installations in large buildings in particular with regard to the electrical installations (low and medium tension)
- Knowledge of European Union normative related to technical design, operation and safety of technical plants and certification as a "Safety Officer" from a recognized Authority
- Extent of overall understanding of the local market practices regarding contracting and procurement of technical support services in areas of interest
- Supervisory skills and problem-solving attitude
- Fluency in English and ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Knowledge of Italian and technical terminology
- Knowledge of technical applications related to computerized building automation systems

69,372 - 89,275 (without dependants) or 71,549 - 95,979 (with dependants)
