Job Description
- Assist the regional Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) Nonprofit Source Data Manager and serve as technical staff to the CBP Nutrient Subcommittee and its workgroups by evaluating environmental modeling information and processes
- Responsible for the development and management of databases used in CBP Watershed Model input decks as well as in-depth analyses, interpretation, and dissemination of model inputs and outputs
- The incumbent will collaborate with technicians and environmental managers in refining simulation processes and data use to better reflect real-world conditions and pollution control activities
- Major focus of the work is to provide guidance to manager, researchers, and citizens involved in the restoration and protection of water quality and living resources in the Chesapeake Bay watershed
Job Qualifications
Required:
- BS degree in agricultural or environmental engineering, soil science, agronomy, environmental or natural resource management, ecology, or related discipline
- A minimum of two (2) years experience or an advanced degree in watershed modeling of nonpoint source pollution and the impacts of control measures
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience in interpretation and communication of model output to data managers and policy makers
- Knowledge of SQL or PHP programming language
- Demonstrated experience with MS Access, PowerPoint, Acr / Info, Arc Vie, and Visual Basic, and / or statistical analysis
